Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

by inferno10 on Oct.31, 2004, under lazy

Ok, I’m finally happy to say this weekend was not that boring after all. On Friday I made another promise to God that if I did well on Locasio’s dynamics quiz that day I’d goto church. So tomorrow I’m going to church.

Friday night, Chris, Jay and I just sat around the house watching movies and drinking some captain coke, Pabst, and leftover pizza from PPK (which I had to do a pity case to get em to pick me up from work). Actually, I think we were watching one season of Family Guy on DVD. Thankfully they split the season into 3 DVDs. I was about ready to blow my head off by the end of it.

Saturday, being my usual lazy day off, was spent mostly in front of the boob tube playing Final Fantasy X. That game has got to have the worst dialogue timing ever. Not to mention how linear the game is, and how ditzy the characters can be. Yeah, so that killed about 3-4 hours of my life. Around 5:45 Chris and I went to get some Ben Franklin’s. No idea why we decided to go there. But all I could worry about was that my Citibank card was going to be maxed out after paying my registration fee for next quarter. I am seriously living the life of a poor college student. But money comes in Monday. Praise be to Yevon!

Saturday night was just odd, and a tad bit sad. Chris and I were just sitting around again, watching Cheaters and Austin Powers on TV, when I noticed what sounded like a crowd outside. Chris muted the volume, and we both heard it. Sounded like a party, so we had to crash it. We open our door, and we were shocked. Our house is on Foothill, close to Los Osos Valley Road (LOVR), and there’s this one intersection I always ignore that’s right next to the house because it always looks desolate. But tonight, there were tons of cars. Looks like we hit the costume party run by CPSC. Didn’t even know they were in our backyard (how sad is that?), but it was a welcome neighbor. There were tons of people walking around, some with pretty awesome costumes (lots of ladies in cop outfits, which I think is hot…and ironic). We weren’t plastered yet, so we had to remedy that if we were going to enjoy the shindig. We went to Albertsons, got a huge thing of Jagermeister, and went back home.

Dude, in the span of 15 minutes, the huge azz party across the street from us was dissipating. Someone must have called the cops, because everyone was leaving. That sucked. So we had to walk home. HAH! Crossed the street, and downed some shots. How sweet is that! I could never do that on-campus. So we just went insane again by watching another disc of Family Guy and 15 minutes of Spiderman.

Now I sleep, for the lord cannot wait. WOW! It’s only 1:33! Thank you mr. Daylight Savings time!

Lesson in Life…

by inferno10 on Jun.20, 2003, under lazy

Never go to the pool area with a cell phone. I’ll leave it at that, for fear someone whom I don’t want to read might snoop upon this.

Vegas was HOT. The ladies there were HOT. My parents’ anger were HOT. Yeah, my parents aren’t the type of folk you want to travel with. Especially my dad. He has no patience to travel around Vegas, or do any real sightseeing. If you’re travelling slow, he’ll just walk ahead of you, like we don’t exist. And his temper flares so easily (probably due to the 100+ degree temperatures we experienced).

My experience at Vegas was just as I predicted. It sucked having no peer to chill with. I was too young to gamble, and too old to really enjoy the carnival games. So I did what any other tourist would do – take pictures of everything. I’ll post them up later when my laptop returns (hopefully in one piece).

If you ever goto Vegas, do watch a Cirque du Soleil show. It’s definitely worth looking at. Although those topless revues did catch my fancy too (^_^).

Stuff I’ll remember from my trip to Vegas:
* The heat (reached a high of 105 on one day) and how I didn’t think it was all that bad.
* The amount of immigrants trying to hand out those stripper magazines and cards. I can’t help but associate the sound of a hand flicking a card with that stuff now. It’s shocking that they pass that stuff out even when there are children walking around! One has to only look down at the sidwalk to see one of those cards, and kids are closer to the ground.
* The buildings. Vegas has changed quite a bit since I’ve last been there. The Luxor was the latest completed hotel/casino, while work on the Bellagio was just beginning. Most of the swanky new places (Venetian, Paris, Aladdin) weren’t even starting to form yet. So all these replicas of places is definitely amazing to look at. The Eiffel Tower mockup is definitely an awesome site.

Pics will be posted later.
