I’ve finally found a band that plays that kind of Ska that I like, more of a Ska-core sound but not too edgy. I’ve been able to find bits and pieces of Ska from various bands, but those bands only do like one or two songs in the style I want.

Mustard Plug is a true Ska-only band. You don’t see many Ska bands anymore, so they’re a very refreshing sound for tired ears. I don’t know why I like Ska; it’s probably due to the combination of guitars, drums, and horns. Most, it’s the inclusion of horns, such as trumpets, trumbones, and saxophones. But Ska always has this energetic sound to it, and it’s mostly very happy sounding. I also like how they use a different emphasis on the beat. Instead of stressing the downbeat, Ska stresses the up-beat, which gives it almost a jazz-like feel.

If you never heard of Ska before, take a listen to some of Mustard Plug’s music. Click the link below to see their albums:

So I get back to SSF on Friday evening (after 1 HOUR in traffic) to find my room was anal raped by my mom. All my junk is scattered neatly in places I did not intend to go. Props to her getting my closet organized though. Hope she didn’t find my stash of “cough cough”. ^_^

For some reason my mom brought back my old old old old shoes that have worn out soles. I didn’t even know I still had some of these pairs around the house! And I wonder why I even had shoes that looked like that! Damn ugly 90′s era Jason.

And now I have a bean bag chair in the room.

I think I’ll kidnap the beanbag and hold it for ransom back in my room at the apartment. If my demands aren’t met, I’m kidnapping my 27″ TV in my room too.

Think it’s time that my apartment room gets a makeover. I’m tired of being paranoid that everyone is staring at my back when I’m working w/ the door open. So instead of my desk at the opening of the door, I’ll either put my movable closet…or a “FCUK YOU” poster. The closet looks like the most viable option, but I’m looking around on eBay. >=)

Valentines Day: did nothing. I shoulda gone to Bliss Bar w/ my bro and the group. They didn’t even get carded. I missed out on the totally hot bartender they were talking about. I shoulda gone even though I have this horrible thing on my lip. I don’t know if it’s a pimple or a bugbite. It’s shorta itchy, but not too itchy. But the SOB won’t die already! I should get some benzoyl peroxide or alcohol and dry it to death.

I got a haircut. Same old haircut. But now I have glue gel. I decided to slick my hair back more to have a more aerodynamic spiky style. The glue gel makes my hair look sorta a pale white in the sun. I’d look totally kickass if I didn’t have the friggin bugbite/pimple from hell. The glue/gel is STRONG. I wake up in the morning to find my hair still partially spiked from yesterday, but uglier.

I got my IRS tax refund already! $102.48 baby back into my pocket baby! Thank you G.W.B, and ResNet!

My dad gave me a Timbuk2 messenger bagthat his work gave him. Now I have enough bags to wear one for each day of the week now. I’m turning into a male woman. (not literally of course…or even figuratively)

That about sums up my chum for this bum.

You know, ponder an environment where the RIAA got its way,
a world where anyone who fileshares gets thrown into a cell,
supposedly to make web users life into a living hell
while preaching that this will boost the music artists sales
as they try to kill off peer to peer sharing, staking the last few nails
hoping to number the filesharing days.

While sound in judgement I see a fundamental flaw;
by using lawsuits and jailtime as pawns in their game
the music biz is severly tarnishing their name.
Jailtime isn’t what the RIAA should do;
instead they should utilize the Internet as their tool
rather than try to stop us utilizing some law.

And if you think of the worst case scenario,
how would we buy the music biz’s music?
We’d be stuck in jail serving as a jailmate’s ho.
