The Weeks

by inferno10 on Jun.01, 2004, under busy

Midterm midterm final;
Quiz final final.
Final, break;
Break, final;
Pack,
Move,
Vacation!

That little poem pretty much summarizes my life (or lack thereof) for these two weeks of hell.

House Search 2004

by inferno10 on Apr.13, 2004, under busy

So we’re looking for a house for next year. The competition is tough. The choices are slim. I think we need to start bidding higher for a lease.

Here’s our list of potentials, in order of preference(personal info withheld so no one can steal our picks):
1) 3BR 2BA $1650/$2300 – viewing the house tomorrow
2) 3BR 2BA $1650/$2500 – scratch: owner wants us to start renting now
3) 3BR 2BA $negotiable – reserved a spot in the queue
4) 3BR 1BA $1350/$1500 – will call owner tomorrow.

More as it transpires. We also need/want a fourth roommate.

Full House

by inferno10 on Mar.23, 2004, under busy

Vacation’s been pretty busy.

Got home Friday night, after nearly running my car off the freeway (^_^), for a stupid reason too. I’ve become too dependent on my car radio’s remote control. Without it, I have no clue where any buttons are

Saturday afternoon I decided to go test my new (old) bike at Ocean Beach. There is so much of SF that I have never explored on my own! Thank goodness I brought my camera with me, or else you wouldn’t be able to see the pictures below from that day. That same night I had to go fix two computers. Guess my job with ResNet gives me a reputation as a computer technician. Oh well.

Sunday we had a barbeque to celebrate my past birthday. First off my parents and I went to church. From now on I refuse to goto church with my parents, because they seem to be going there late on purpose. For the past 4 times I’ve gone with them, they have been consistently half-an-hour late! I always miss the entire liturgy of the word. So I decided that I will go on my own. It’s mean, but they can’t cheat the Church. Anyway, to make me more mad, before everyone arrived for dinner, I wanted to make my famous garlic mashed potatoes. But my parents kept telling me not to make it. So I got pissed off and left the house. I drove to CompUSA and bought me a controller for my computer as a comfort toy. I was about to head home, but decided to make a U-turn to Starbucks and get me a Frappucino. An hour later, I decided to go back home…really slowly. During this whole time, my cell rang like three or four times, all from Home (I set the ringtone for Home to be the Jaws theme song). Later that night I played poker with some family members. This was my first time actually playing Texas Hold ‘em, and it was pretty fun. I’ve learned when to bluff and how not to go all in on the first round (my dad did, and he lost with a pair of 6).

Yesterday I didn’t really do much. Woke up late, played the part of the potato, and not much else. Later I went to Starbucks with Larry, and was planning on going to the gym with him. But later he decided to go invite a few friends over and play some more Texas Hold ‘em; I joined in again (and lost, again).

Today I didn’t do much again. We’re going fishing at Lake Chabot tomorrow, so we went to Sportsmart and got some lures. I tied my lures in an original way, so it will look like a fish is chasing a mini-squid. Just watch; I’ll score the new lake record.

So for now, I bid you adieu, and present the pictures from Ocean Beach:

While You Were Out

by inferno10 on Jan.12, 2004, under busy

Haha I pulled a “While You Were Out” episode in our apartment this weekend. If you don’t know, While You Were Out is this show on Discovery Channel where people redecorate a living space while keeping whoever owns the place out distracted. While a couple of my roomates were out this Saturday, I went ahead and re-organized the living room. Basically I just re-arranged the chairs to allow for a more open feel and wider space:
Looks wider, yeah?

You’re probably wondering what that little brown box is at the right. It’s the dartboard my brother Larry gave me for Christmas. I had to stack one of our small tables on top of our coffee table in order to bring the dartboard up to a decent throwing height. I wish I could hang it on the wall, but oh well. Here’s another view of the dartboard-side of the wall, with the asian decoration below:
Dartboard! Samurai sword!

Here’s the side across from the dartboard. Pretty dull, eh? That side needs more posters (although there’s another small poster on the left side which you can’t see):
Yawn

What you don’t see is the major posterage I’ve added to the hallway. I got these awesome Pulp Fiction , Swingers , and a Goldfinger movie posters. Now our walls don’t look so barren!

Lots of change in the apartment. But alas, more death as well. My bamboo plant is continuing to die on me. 2 more stalks have turned the dreaded brown of death:
Alas, bamboo plant, I knew thee well.

That’s all for now. Gotta run to the library to STUDY! Must…get…above 3.0 this quarter, or die trying.

I have a BBQ to get to, and a super duper tough programming project I need to finish, so without further adieu:

Re-did the intro again…

by inferno10 on Apr.16, 2003, under busy

Yes, it’s ever changing. Intro 2.0 is even better than ever. It features an awesome tune, and now has a loading screen for you dial-up users out there! I even managed to decrease the size by 20k! The loading screen has a bong sound that should be on tempo right before the intro begins, so it should appear seamless. Tell me what you think of it: http://www.calpoly.edu/~jozaeta/http://www.calpoly.edu/~jozaeta/

New Intro Music

by inferno10 on Apr.16, 2003, under busy

I’ve received a few complaints from visitors that my flash intro’s music is too startling. I, therefore, have changed the music to mellow it out. Tell me what you think of the new version. I may end up changing it again.
