After taking ENGR 550 for 3 weeks, my textbook FINALLY arrived from Amazon.com. Now maybe I can stop failing that class…
Not a drop to drink

Hmm…the water stopped working in our house. Just another reason why I hate living in it. We so need to find a new house for next year.
In other news, it’s T-minus 15 days till I turn 21!!!
All In

I gotta stop doing that!!! I time my all in calls wrong, thinking no one will call it. I guess an all-in bluff works only once in a game. There goes my $10.
Sucky Week
by inferno10 on Jun.01, 2004, under annoyed
After my relaxing weekend, I’m going to be having much gnawing of the teeth this week. Every day, I’m having either a quiz, midterm, or final! I’m not kidding!
Monday: Holiday
Tuesday: CHEM125 Midterm
Wednesday: ASTR102 Midterm
Thursday: ENGR112 Final, CHEM125 Quiz
Friday: ME211 Practice Final, ASTR102 Final
Then next week I still have 2 more finals to take care of. WTF did I do to deserve this?

Peace be NOT with you

So last week I went to church back in South SF, and things have gotten weird there.
For some odd reason, the archdiocese decided that people should not hold hands anymore during the “Our Father”. During the sign of peace, they also recommended that “a simple nod of the head” would be good enough as a sign of peace, rather than shaking hands. And during communion, people should refrain from having the body of Christ placed on their tongue, receiving it in their hand instead.
Come on people! That’s not right! I felt totally out of place because of those changes. I stuck out my hand to shake, and got a nod, making me feel like an idiot. Church didn’t seem like a community anymore, but rather a gathering of individuals too afraid to act like a community. So what if it there are illnesses around? Just by going to church, you already risk catching it since there’s a bunch of people in a small area. They might as well hand out face masks at the entrance. I certainly hope this change is only temporary, because it really kills the value of worship as a community.
Please stay on the line…

I have been on HOLD for about an HOUR now. What makes it worse is that every few minutes the muzak is interrupted by a lady who sounds EXACTLY like Nina from Office Space (“Corporate Accounts Payable, Nina speaking. Just a moment.”). Except this voice says “We apologize for the delay. All of our operators are currently busy assisting other customers. Please stay on the line and the next available operator will assist you.”
I HATE AT&T Wireless.
Gubernatorial popups
by inferno10 on Oct.01, 2003, under annoyed
Looks like one Democratic gubernatorial candidate sunk so low as to use popups to advertise himself. Doubt that’ll gain him the support of computer users. I’m surprised we haven’t seen a popup ad for the porn actress running for governor as well. I find it amusing that Gruener says he can bring Californians together to demand change by utilizing the full power of the web. I certainly don’t think using popup ads is using the full power of the web. I mean, how many of us actually look at popups, and then even act on them apart from closing them?
Here’s the popup ad:
Another Blaster worm…
by inferno10 on Sep.17, 2003, under annoyed
Just what ResNet needs, a potential new Blaster worm. We’ve had to deal with so many services to remove Blaster from computers. Hopefully we won’t need to add another patch program to the list of tasks we need to go through on every computer. I should probably recommend we try using Steve Gibson’s DCOMbobulator utility, which would reduce the amount of workload in patching by protecting against Blaster, Welchia, and any future virii that would use the DCOM hole. So instead of running FixBlast then the patch, I would rather run FixBlast and DCOMbobulator.
More pictures from the Central Coast are on its way, but I went looking back at my archives and found a neat photo I didn’t notice last time. Here’s “Amusement Ride.”
