Turning 21 in 2 hours…

by inferno10 on Mar.15, 2005, under aggravated

…and I could seriously use a drink.

Just took my thermodynamics final. There was one problem I couldn’t figure out, because Kean didn’t include any info about this one state in a system. Tried a bunch of crap to figure out numbers, but I couldn’t! That jerk! The solution to the problem was explained 3 chapters out of the scope of our lessons. ALMOST TO THE EXACT WORD. That’s low.

So in 2 hours (1.5 hours now), I want to buy my first alcoholic beverage. I’m craving some Bailey’s…or wine.

EDIT: I just found out Albertson’s closes at midnight. Jerks!!! Now how am I gonna do my midnight run?

Man…I hate how at Bank of America, pending transactions disappear for a while, then appear 4 or 5 days later then subtract your balance. I overdrafted because of this. And I had to pay a $60 insufficient funds fee. ARRGH! Now I know how it feels to be really poor…

Parking Citattion

by inferno10 on Oct.02, 2004, under aggravated

Citation

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I hate parking services at Cal Poly!!!!! I got a fudging parking ticket for misusing a parking permit I got from a friend. I didn’t have my own permit, so I was using this one, thinking parking services wouldn’t care. But apparently they do give a damn. A damn worth $225. My citation bail is $225, the price of a yearly permit. This bites!!!!! Not only will I be paying the fine, I’m going to have to also shell out the same amount for a real permit now.

This was seriously, and I mean seriously, an expense I could have done without.

ERRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by inferno10 on Nov.17, 2003, under aggravated

Today had much grinding of the teeth. I had one of those days again. Guess from now on I should start expecting a horrible day to ruin a good weekend. Well today…(in order of occurrence)

- I learned that I’m going to have a midterm in digital design this Friday
- My math midterm is quickly getting closer (Thursday)
- I botched my last math quiz (although I am currently at an 85% in the class, higher than I expected)
- I couldn’t get all problems in my EE 112 homework done
- I couldn’t figure out how to get stupid Excel to make the graphs I needed for my Physics turn-in homework.
- I discovered that my friggin bike seat got stolen over the weekend

That last one really put the topping on the day. I guess it was my own stupidity for leaving the bike in school over the weekend. Guess I’ll never think about SLO being a safe city from now on.

In other news, I’m probably going to drop an hour from work in the morning starting Wednesday. School takes precedence over work, and sleep makes me perform better in school. So an extra hour of sleep each morning should help me out.

More physics angst

by inferno10 on Oct.30, 2003, under aggravated

Ok. I’m GLAD I took physics as credit/no credit. I just bombed a hw assignment on something I should be familiar with: resistors in series/parallel. Judging by the Blackboard message board comments, I’m not the only one who was incredibly frustrated with this assignment. I don’t know if anyone else scored in the high 30 percentile for the hw, though.

In other news, I’m starting to take a serious look at changing my major. I really am not feeling computer engineering as something I’d enjoy, but am totally lost where to look next. Should I try another engineering major? Should I leave engineering altogether? Should I become a business major? I hate Cal Poly for having to choose a major so soon.

Maybe a picture of the sunset on the PAC will ease my mind:

AT&T cell phone woes…

by inferno10 on Oct.12, 2003, under aggravated

I don’t know what’s going on with AT&T Wireless, but whatever they’re doing around in SLO is very aggravating! Last year, my Nokia phone always showed me connected to ROAM (SLO is a local calling zone still, however), and the reception was always great. This year, however, my phone is mixing between ROAM and AT&T. You’d think that the AT&T text on my phone would be a good thing. It’s NOT. The reception coming from the AT&T system is horrible! It wavers between one and two bars, and calling out from the phone is damn near impossible. You just get that busy beeping noise! After a good ten attempts, you finally get through, then have to deal with the crappilicious reception. WTF?!? If they’re expanding to the SLO region they better hurry up, or else they’re going to lose a customer. That $500 bill is still fresh on my mind too, so I would not show mercy if this lack of good reception continues…

We now return to “Midterm Study Woes”, with your host Bob Vila.
