So I thought I was going to make some creamy chicken with mushrooms tonight. Only problem was, I didn’t have cream and butter. So I decided to just whip up a completely random dish. I got out the frozen chicken, soaked it in chicken broth, put a crapload of garlic powder on it, pepper, salt, this red powder I’m assuming is red curry powder, barbeque seasoning, and all-purpose seasoning. I got out the frozen veggies and let it defrost with the chicken. While everythign defrosted, I minced a couple cloves of garlic. When the chicken was ready, I put some oil into a pan and put the garlic in to start frying. I added in the chicken, thinking I would be ending up with fried chicken. The damn chicken must have been still frozen inside, because after a while, there was quite a bit of water simmering the chicken. With fried chicken out of the way, I just continued to season my concoction with the red powder and pepper. A nice red sauce was forming, so I thought I might make a thick sauce later, and got out the starch. When the chicken looked fairly cooked, I added in a bunch of chicken broth to form the sauce, and added in mushrooms (which I love in everything). Later I added in some potato cubes. I had to add in more chicken broth to have enough liquid to boil the potato. Once that was going, I added in the thawed veggies to top the dish.

Overall, this dish immediately reminded me of my friend Deepak, because of his curry vegetables that he made for us this one time. I could swear that my dish was as spicy as his. I think I overspiced the dish with the red powder though, because I’m sweating cats and dogs while eating this, and my mouth is on fire! It really tastes like an authentic Indian dish though, and it’s not bad at all.

Anyway, off to Jamba Juice to get something to quench this fire in my mouth!
