Commercial Takeover

by inferno10 on Jul.23, 2003, under blah

As I sit in front of the boob tube being a potato, I’ve been noticing this one guy that’s starring in more and more commercials. I don’t know the guy’s name, but you would easily recognize him from that one Mountain Dew: LiveWire commercial, the guy with the frizzy hair and the goatee. If you haven’t seen him in that commercial, you’ve probably seen him in a growing number of commercials. A Best Buy commercial is another one I can recall, where he recommends the guy get smaller speakers. Who is this guy? Is he trying to take over the world through commercials?

Before the pictures of the day, I’m debating on what picture size to use. Most of my older photos was resized to 384×288 pixels, but recently I’ve been resizing to 352×264 pixels for smaller file sizes. Which is better?

Pictures of the day. First was taken at Santana Row in San Jose. Second was taken near Duggan’s Mortuary in Colma.

I was trying to figure this one out myself. It’s how I found this site trying to track down info on this kid. The guy has about 4 national spots running and that’s a hell of a coup for him and his agent (I used to be a talent agent so it’s a little hobby of mine to follow actors’ careers!).

If anyone finds out this guy’s name, please post.

I too have been on a solem mission to discover this guys identity. It all started about a year ago when I first noticed him in multiple commercials. Since then the tally is up to 8 with his most recent spots in Kay Jewelers, Coors, and Nokia. Some of them he’s starring, some he’s just standing in the background with an empty look on his face, but he’s everywhere. My friends have taken to refering to him as “my boy,” and I’ve driven a few of my friends insane with the search. I’m willing and ready to take this to the next level…who’s coming with me? I want to start a fan club, there has to be more of us that recognize his genius. Anyway…just nice that there’s someone else out their that is gleaning pleasure in the wonderous world of the trivial and obscure.
